Dr. Surveillance

Welcome dear students and teachers. I want to thank you all for being here today and I want to thank our principal for the permission to use this room. So, what is surveillance? Surveillance is like a doctor: he examines and helps us to be healthy. So... Surveillance is not a bad thing.

I am here to tell you, why you should vote for cameras and surveillance in our beautiful Clay-Oberschule. Like a doctor, who sees deseases, the cameras will just see crimes, vandalism and bullying. The cameras are an instrument of security. For your safety. Statistics proove, that the crime rate of teenagers and adolescent people rised drastically, so that placing cameras is just a necessary step towards the safety of us all, not just the students, but also the teachers. Some of you might think now "isn't that at least a privacy issue?" and I say: NO it is not. It is, indeed, the case, that nothing will be public or disseminated but lets get back to our doctor: He searches for deseases ... and he probably sees things, that noone else saw, because he is a doctor and he wants you to be healthy, like the cameras at school serve the purpose to save our students and teachers against dangers. I guess noone would say to a doctor "don't help me" right?

I am pretty certain, that some of you still do not trust surveillance, but thats no problem! Not the trust is a problem, because you have nothing to fear, but the uncertainity for example of beeing attacked is. I think many of us are not criminal, and have nothing to fear. I think the statement "I have nothing to hide" fits here very well ... so if you have nothing to hide at school, you don't have to worry about being tracked by the cameras. Outside of the school you can hide everything you want, but at school you have simply nothing to hide.

I am sure, that noone cares about what you do, unless it is illegal. Just act, like you usually do. The surveillance does not affect or limit your behavior, undless you do not hurt others, and do not damage or destroy school property.

Finally i have to repeat my self: the cameras are not placed to hurt you. They will not affect the average student in any cases, unless he doesn't know how to behave.

Trust is good, controle is better.
